Whitepapers and Style Guides
01
Gene-Editing Whitepaper
This whitepaper focused on the benefits of gene-editing in an agricultural context. The goal of this writing project is to practice using features of Microsoft Word and utilize the best practices of technical writing. The whitepaper uses tasks, procedures, and references to convey technical information. Overall, the research process was straightforward, but next time I will consider the Flesch-Kincaid readability test more often during the writing process. Using the Word features, I was able to edit my writing to a more appropriate readability level.
02
AllTrails Style Guide
This is a collaboration writing project with two other technical writers. The goal of this project is to learn more about formatting a style guide and practice using technical writing techniques. At first it was difficult to adapt to the specific type of format and content that is in a style guide, but search up examples of other professional work helped to create a more detailed scope and image. We incorporated all the important content and guidelines that make up a professional style guide.
